Dermaplaning

Despite being one of the simplest skincare treatments, Dermaplaning is one of the most effective methods of skin exfoliation available today. In recent years, dermaplaning has become quite popular amongst celebrities and the Hollywood elite, as it is known to provide patients with clean, clear, rejuvenated skin, without the need for surgery or any invasive measures!
The process uses an ultra-sharp scalpel tool to carefully scrape off the outer layers of old, dead skin cells – cleaning out the pores of unwanted dirt, debris and facial oils to reveal a brighter, clearer, more vibrant inner complexion!

HOW DOES IT WORK?

The Dermaplaning process begins with a thorough cleansing of the skin’s surface, removing the outer layer of oil, known as sebum, as well as any surface dirt or debris. The extra sharp scalpel is then glided across the skin’s surface, removing more dirt, oil, and debris; we make sure to remove the entire outer layer of dead skin cells, providing maximum exfoliation.
Exfoliation is a vital part of any good skincare routine as it ensures that the outer layer of dead skin cells are removed and replaced by freshly regenerated newer, more youthful cells. This works using a natural process known as cellular regeneration.
The process also removes any micro-fiber hairs or “peachfuzz” on the skin’s outer layer, allowing patients healthier, smooth, blemish-free skin.
Once we exfoliate the skin’s outer layer, we apply a series of special topical creams or serums to help treat the sensitive inner layer of skin that is now exposed to the air. Depending on your specific skin care needs, and your specific skin type, different serums and solutions may be applied.

BENEFITS OF DERMAPLANING

Dermaplaning offers a number of benefits, despite being relatively simple. It relies on the body’s natural ability to rejuvenate itself and works by jumpstarting that process. We are able to manually exfoliate the skin, without damaging any capillaries or creating any surface blemishes in the process.
One of the most interesting aspects of dermaplaning is that it actually stimulates the production of new skin cells and a vital skincare protein known as collagen, in the process. collagen is a main component of our skin and its inner connective tissue – unfortunately, as we age, our production of collagen slowly decreases over time. With newly produced collagen, it helps to ensure the new skin cells are far smoother, softer, and have the ability to rejuvenate naturally at a much higher and more effective rate.
